H&M posted mysterious black and white videos on their Facebook fan page a few days ago announcing another designer collaboration, playing the suspense card since the designer was never announced  which created a lot of speculation.

After their previous efforts with Victor & Rolf, Madonna, Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Jimmy Choo being the latest, I had high hopes for this secret design collaboration. And, they didn’t let me down.

An announcement today from the company, coming a few days earlier than expected, announced that their new designer collab is with Lanvin, a Swedish retailer. The collection will be a one-time holiday line, launching in 200 H&M stores countrywide on November 23rd. Little will be said about the collection until November 2nd, when H&M will be launching videos of the collection on their website.

I’m excited about this collaboration because of Lanvin’s elegant and classic aesthetic, but like most of the past H&M collection launches, I’ll probably be staying far away from the ridiculous lines.

It was only a matter of time before handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff stepped in to the shoe designing business and from the looks of it, I’m glad she did. You can never run out of good designer shoes to choose from! The line doesn’t debut until her Spring 2011 show this fall and will consist of 25 pieces which will range from $160-$395. This puts them in the same price bucket as Gwen Stefani’s LAMB shoe line.

I’m excited to see the other styles in her collection and how successful the launch is going to be. Her handbags are popular, so you can probably assume that her shoe line will follow suit.

Man oh Man, JC Penney’s is starting to catch on to the designer spotlight trend.  Jc Penney will introduce MNG by Mango this week in 77 stores!  Mango is known best for their young urban clothing trends and looks like you will be able to get them now for a cheaper price ($10 to $20 for shirts).  I am hearing that they will have a wide array of jackets (cropped, military, wool) in their collection.

After reviewing their online collection and pricing, I can’t say that I’m excited.  There wasn’t anything too special and their pricing is still fairly high.

That’s right you all, that annoying girl Alexis Neiers from the show Pretty Wild on the E network is slated to have an upcoming clothing line.  Please someone tell me how the hell this is even possible, but apparently this is all she thought about while in county jail.  As an avid watcher of the show (don’t ask why), I can not understand why she would have a fashion line, she has absolutely not fashion sense whatsoever, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Supposedly her line will be a bit risque too “I’m inspired by a lot of designers in Europe right now, but “I’m inspired by a lot of designers in Europe right now, but it’s very Victorian, very sweet, kind of coquettish,” she said. “It’s girly, it’s innocent, it’s fun.”

I am delighted to hear that Victoria Beckham (best known as a Spice Girl and her VB Rocks line) will be collaborating with Katie Hillier (designer best known for jewelry collections)  to produce a handbag line.  I was always wondering why she has yet to produce any handbags given how much she is into fashion.  I am excited to see what might come out of this line.  I am definitely expecting an edgy yet classic line.  I guess we will see.

Keep an eye out this winter for their collection to debut.

I will admit that I am not the hugest fan of The City’s Olivia Palermo, however I am a fan of her timeless elegant fashion sense.  She is known best for being a bitch on The City, but when I think of her, I picture feminine soft pieces mixed with blazers and jackets.  I look forward to watching the show to see what she puts together next, so I was happy to see she had an ASOS magazine spread.
